General Practitioners are specialists trained to treat most of the commonly seen complaints, such as heart and lung diseases, diabetes, paediatric diseases, gynaecological and even psychosocial complaints. GPs also perform minor surgical procedures, such as placing an IUD. GPs are also trained to recognise situations in which a patient needs to be seen by another healthcare specialist. Statistically, 9 out of 10 complaints are treated by GPs and in 1 in 10 cases a patient is referred to another healthcare professional. Your GP is therefore also your link to various other healthcare services, such as hospitals, specialists, home nursing, midwifery and physiotherapy.
The following GPs work at Health Centre Rotterdam Noord: Ms. W. Chan, Ms. S. van Boven and Mr. N. Verhoekx
